For GM / General Motors. 1997-up Corvette uses an electronic column lock (ECL) to lock the steering wheel when the ignition is off. EL-47728 is an electronic tester that actuates the ECL from the unlocked to locked positions, and back. During actuation with EL-47728, various mechanical diagnostic procedures are performed to determine if both the electrical and mechanical portions of the ECL are operating correctly.
